Leopold, the student of the cistercian seminar, entered the church and walked into the middle of the magnificent building. He loved the silence in the temple of the Almighty, yet He also loved a church filled with faithful chanting the holy creed all together. But in order to chant the creed all together, we need faithful! Hence, father Leopold went up to the tower where the bells hung.

Once he had arrived there he pulled the cord connected to the bells. Continuously pulling and releashing the cord he made the bells summon all the faithful.

After ringing the bells for a while, he went downstairs again. While walking to the sacristy in order to put on his priestly gowns he checked the church if he didn't saw anything that shouldn't be there, or was out of place, or even missing. But everything seemed alright. And so, he retreated to the sacristy. Hoping that when he returned to start the mass some faithful would have found the way into the church.

Father Leopold, fully dressed in this gowns, appeared out of the sacristy and with a smile onhis face he proceeded towards the altar. There he raised his hands as if he was going to try to hug all those present before placing them pointing to the skies.

Welcome, my brothers and sisters. Let me first introduce myself.

I am Leopold de Ligne, Bishop of Utrecht, student at the cistercian seminary under the auspices of sister Psy and since recently a cistercian novice at the Saint Sjnoel Abbey of Egmont in Holland. As part of my education at the seminary I have the honor of celebrating the mass in the abbey church here in front of all of you. The mass will be held in the English language in order to express the international character of the order and of course my insuffient knowlegde in the French language.

But... Let us celebrate, brothers and sisters. Because today we celebrate together and share a meal in the honor of the Father of us all, our Most Holy Creator. Rejoice! And let us begin this Holy Mass with the sign of the cross. The cross which symbolizes the four elements, the cross on which our Prophet, Christos, Mirror of Divinity, died and the cross which touches our knowlegde, used for the good of mankind...

He touched his head.

Our heart, and love and friendship for others...

He touched the place where his heart lies.

And our shoulders, who carry the sick and the helpless, as well as the burdens of this world.

He touched both of his shoulders. Then bowed his head for a while, with his eyes closed. He then arose again, saying:

Brothers, sisters, let us speak out our faith, our believe, by recitating the Holy Creed.

With a deep voice he started chanting, fallen in by those who are present.

Credo in Deum,
Altissimum Omnipotentem,
Creatorem caeli et terrae,
Inferos et paradisi,
Ultima hora animae judicem nostrae

Et in Aristotelem, prophetam,
Nicomaqui Phaestique filium,
Missum ut sapientiam et universi
Divas leges errantibus hominibus erudiret

Credo etiam in Christum,
Natum ex Maria et Ioseph,
Vitam dedit ut nobis paradisi viam monstraret
Sic, postquam sub Pontio passus est
Propter salutem
Nostram martyr perivit
Consecutus est Solem
Ubi Aristoteles ad Altissimi dexteram eum expectabat

Credo in Divinam Actionem,
Sanctam Ecclesiam aristotelicianam, romanam, unam et indivisibilem
Sanctorum communionem,
Peccatorum remissionem,
Carnis resurrectionem
Vitam aeternam.

AMEN.

MessageSujet: Re: [MASS] 5 February 1460 - Leopold   [MASS] 5 February 1460 - Leopold EmptyVen 10 Fév - 10:52

After the solemn singing of the creed, the time had come to bring forth the Book of Virtues. Leopold held the sacred book in his hands and lifted it up so everyone could see it. After that, he carefully placed the Book on the lectural stand and opened it.

With loud and clear voice he read the title:

Book of the Prehistory, chapter eight: Paganism.

He cleared his throat and continued:

The groups of humans having fled Oanylone thus had dispersed and populated the world. Their descendants had founded cities, had formed governments and had invented money, which allowed trade. But they had also invented war and, to encourage them to better knowledge instead of more fighting, God had divided the single language into a multitude of languages.

Among all these humans, a group was formed, seeking to understand divine reality. But this group was quite as ignorant of God as the rest of humanity. The human ones did not feel any more His divine love, because they had been diverted from Him. They sought an explanation to their life, while the answer was given to them. But they could no longer listen to it and remained deaf to His love.

The group decided that in each thing, in each element that surrounds the men and women, there was a spirit whose power exceeded their understanding. These elemental spirits had superhuman capacities. They were equipped with varied personalities and never failed to compete with each other in order to prove who was strongest.

Thus, no longer having God in their hearts, they had invented a whole Pantheon of false gods. As the sky covers the world and is the source of the light, they made the god of the sky the king of their divinities. Its lightning quickly became famous and every human very quickly learned to fear it. As the human ones did not know any more the virtue, the gods whom they had invented were as corrupt as themselves. Their divine king could transform himself into a gold cloud to practice the sin of lust with princesses.

To honour their multiple divinities, the human ones created churches that were dedicated to them and named them “temples.” Themselves, acting as preachers in their paganism, appointed “priests.” They begged the assistance of their gods and, in exchange, sacrificed animals to them. Whereas God had taught through Oane that the multiple creatures of the world, although subjected to humans, were to be respected, it was by their blood that the pagan ones revered their false divinities.

But there was no love for their new gods. Those were only used to render services in exchange for these sacrifices. Admittedly, these pagans respected their divinities, but it was by fear rather than by love. Many cities gathered in kingdoms, having at their head the kings. These called upon the pagan priests so that their divinities should come to them to provide assistance, and the false priests believed the future of the cities was written in animal entrails.

But there remained a vacuum in the heart of the men and women. They missed that for which they had been conceived. They missed the love that God wanted to give them and that He waited for in return. Then, God decided that the moment had come to remind His Creation of its purpose. He found a child in the city that was called Stagirus and taught His Word to him so that the man could find the way of virtue. This child was called Aristotle.

He concluded with the following words:

Words of wisdom!

And he lifted the Book of Virtues again before placing it back on the altar. He then walked to the lectural stand again and letting the words sink in with the faithful for a while before commencing with his sermon.

My brothers and sisters, in these words we hear about paganism. A group of people who arre unaware of the existence of God and the Divine Truth. They find themselves in the darkness of ignorance, far away of the light of love, the love between God the Father and His children, us, and the love between His children.

Willingly or unwillingly they find themselves as "lost souls". They search for something they can't find, because they are lookingthe wrong way. It is our task, my brothers and sisters, to aid these people. Not to act violent towards them, because they reject our and their Heavenly Father. They don't know better. They are waiting for the arrival of us, carriers of the Light! The Light of the Eternal God to illuminate them.

As Aristotle was for the people who lived during his lifetime, we too should be for our contemporaries. With kind hand and persuasive words, taught to us by our predessors in faith... I look at the grand seminary of Noirlac... We must aid the pagans and bring them to our Church. So they may find divine truth an experience the aristotelian friendship. But, we mus never, never, never give up on them! It is our duty towards them, ourselves and the Most High!

With these words he concluded his sermon. And he hoped that his words found fertile soil to grow in.

Klara was listening , the words said with fervor.
And also thought: that's true,we too should be for our contemporaries.
With kind hand and persuasive words.

She was quite agree.
Moved because it had the same idea of how to initiate and to share the joy with the believers
and especially those who knew nothing.

The time has come, brothers and sisters, to share the meal. As the faithful did before us and as they will continue to do so in the future, we will gather and eat from the same bread and drink from the same wine, from one table. The altar, the table in the house of the Almighty, our God and Father.

Leopold lifted a loaf of bread and a cup of wine in the air and said.

Behold! Our meal, given to us by the Eternal in crude form, but made by man into something to be shared amongst brothers and sisters.

He stepped forward so all those present could come up and recieve a piece of the bread and a sip of the cup of wine.

The time came to conclude the mass.

Within us rest our meal and our wish to spead the word of our Father and the desire to act like those words: in love, friendship and compassion for others. Because when we give on earth, we will recieve in the Paradise.

Be blessed!

As a final act he made the sign of the cross.
